Wendy Z 1Wendy | Hutchinson:
“I give to Spirit 92.9 because it blesses central Minnesota by spreading the word of God in so many ways.  The station promotes faith & family and I love being able to say I helped make that happen.  Plus the concerts and events they sponsor are the best and you don’t have to brave the traffic in the twin cities!!!

Tracy Tracy | St. Cloud:
“I give to Spirit because I’ve received so much and want to give back.  I believe in the power of music and know  that the only way some people will hear God’s word is through the song lyrics played on Spirit 92.9. It is  awesome to have a station the whole family can agree on and know that in the process, we are soaking in God’s  word.”

WATCH: Teens & Technology Information Session

At Spirit 92.9, part of our mission is to walk with you as you strive to build a strong faith, marriage, and family!

God has provided additional space in our new location to provide opportunities to learn and grow together in these areas.

As parents, keeping our children safe is a top priority. That’s not easy now that they have the world at their fingertips via smartphones and social media. On Tuesday, March 13th we welcomed Spirit 92.9 listeners and parents to our studios to a parent information session to learn more about some of the most popular apps kids are commonly accessing and what dangers they may possess, as well as a candid discussion about how we, as parents, can work together to keep all kids safe. Our presenter was Tammy Lindell, who has worked as a teen counselor and is the current Executive Director at Birthline in St. Cloud. You can learn more about Birthline by clicking HERE.

Christmas Music

Spirit 92.9: Your Soundtrack To The Christmas Season

Christmas is the time of year which brings families and communities together. At Spirit 92.9, we believe this is a special time of year, when people should gather together in a spirit of giving and be thankful for all of the blessings God has given us.

Christmas Music All Season Long On Spirit 92.9Christmas Music

One of our favorite ways to remind ourselves of the season is to listen to Christmas music all season long on Spirit 92.9! On other stations, you may get one or two Christmas songs throughout the day this time of year, but we really help immerse you in the season with 24/7 Christmas music! We’re happy and honored to provide family-friendly, wholesome Christmas music every year for our community. Listen live 24/7 online at Spirit929.com!

Sponsors

We’re very thankful for all of the local businesses who have stepped up and sponsored a full day or specific hours of Christmas music for you and our other listeners to enjoy and reflect on during this season leading up to the birth of Christ.

Go Beyond The Music

Now that you’re in a Christmas mood from all of the Christmas music, we have more opportunities for you to spread Christmas cheer to others!

Christmas Lights

Spread that cheer to your friends and family by encouraging them to go on a tour of Christmas lights this season! We have an amazing Christmas lights directory where you can find homes and even neighborhoods with lights – some even have their displays set to music!

Be sure to check it out, and let us know which light display you like best for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card!

Events

Our community has a ton of great holiday events planned all season long, from choir concerts to holiday movies, free community meals to craft and bake sales! Check out our complete directory of holiday events and bring a friend!

Random Acts Of Christmas Kindness

Spread the kindness this season through random acts done for others out of the goodness of your heart. We have a number of suggestions on our random acts of Christmas kindness page, from paying for the person behind you in the drive-thru to leaving a thank you note for your mail person, bringing a bellringer a cup of cocoa to dropping change in a nearly expired parking meter.

We hope the Christmas music on Spirit 92.9 inspires you to take your faith in a new or expanded direction, and we hope you share the music with everyone you love! Merry Christmas!

4 Ways To Get Your Kids Excited And Involved In Sunday Service

If your kids are anything like ours, they occasionally (or often) drag their feet about going to Sunday service. They say they’d rather stay home and play or watch TV sometimes, instead of gathering with our community to learn about God.

Keeping a child’s interest and excitement up about Sunday service and faith formation is all about consistency and intentionality. You as parents set the tone for your family’s culture, so try these 4 tips to build such a culture.

4 Ways To Get Your Kids Excited And Involved In Sunday Service

1. Set The Example

Your job as a parent is to set the example for your kids, and that includes being genuinely excited about Sunday service and sharing that with your children. They will follow your lead, and in this way you can encourage them to keep an open heart to what they learn and be excited about it.

2. Ask For Take-Home Resources

Many churches have additional curriculum, like take-home sheets. Ask for these; you may even be the first person to ever bring it up, and can help design the curriculum to help other families. It may be tempting to put the sheet or other resource on the counter and forget about it, but really utilize it. It will help your child realize learning about God is a life-long and everyday pursuit, not just for Sundays.

Also, try to relate the main topic of Sunday’s service to your child’s life. When kids can understand how a lesson can relate to their life, they are more likely to remember it. If the lesson was about Jesus treating the poor or sinners with kindness, ask if they have acted or seen others act in a similar way, and how it made the people feel.

3. Cultivate Relationships In The Church Community

Sometimes, you may not go to Sunday service in an area where you live, work or go to school, so your kids may not know anyone. Take the initiative and introduce yourself to other families, plan play dates, sit near each other during the service. It’s beneficial for both the you, the kids and the community as a whole when families connect.

4. Involve Yourself In Children’s Ministry When Possible

This isn’t possible for everyone, but if you can, volunteer to be part of the kids ministry team if one exists. If your kids see you volunteering your time to help support a ministry which is all about them, they will see more value in it.

We hope this helps, and listen to Spirit 92.9 everyday for the encouragement you need!
