The Poor Clare Tea Benefit will be on Tuesday, October 10th from 2p-5:30pm at St. Francis Xavier Parish Gathering Place. The proceeds offset the fuel costs for the cloistered monastery in Sauk Rapids. This benefit is sponsored by 16 area churches in the St. Cloud area. The Poor Clare Monastery in Sauk Rapids is a community of Catholic sisters known as the Poor Clares. Their official name is “Order of St. Clare” (OSC). They are the contemplative branch of the Franciscan family founded by St. Clare of Assisi in 1212. The sisters take the usual religious vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, plus the vow of enclosure. Their mission is to pray for the needs of the church, the world, and all people who are in need. Everyone is welcome to attend. Donations may also be sent to SFX c/o Poor Clare Tea, PO Box 150, Sartell MN 56377
