Be interruptible

You've probably been there. You’re hard at work, trying to get something checked off that to-do list. You're starting to make progress, and then....

...you hear a knock at your office door.

...or your child has a question.

...or a friend calls and wants to chat.

An interruption.

Sometimes, I get annoyed in moments like that. I want to get my stuff done on MY timeline! But I saw a pretty astounding stat recently: over 50% of the miracles Jesus did in the Bible were interruptions. Wow! Think about it: people interrupting Him while He was teaching, traveling, even **gasp** SLEEPING! And in those moments, did Jesus grumpily proclaim, "Sorry, I need to keep doing what I'm doing, and I can't be bothered with this right now." No! Of course not. He stopped. He really SAW people. And then He worked miracles.

I want to follow His example. So, next time there's a knock, text, or question at an inconvenient time, I have to remember: God does some of the coolest things when I let myself be interruptible.
