We talk a lot about HOPE this time of year. But, what is it? And how do we find it in a chaotic and hurting world? Hope is defined as a “having sense of well-being and optimism, regardless of circumstances.” When we choose to follow Jesus, we can find hope, because we’re believing the promise that he’s got our lives, our circumstances, and our whole world in his hands. This Christmas, choose hope, by choosing Jesus. It could change your whole life!

How to find HOPE this Christmas...

Finding Hope begins by understanding WHY we need Jesus.

The bad news is that our sin separates us from a relationship with God, we have all sinned, and the consequences for sin is death (Romans 3:10Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23).

The GOOD NEWS is that God sent His Only son Jesus to our world on that first Christmas, so that one day he could take the punishment for our sin and make the way for us to have a relationship with God (John 3:16). The Bible tells us that believing in Jesus Christ is the Only way for us to come into a relationship with God (John 14:6). Jesus willingly went to His death on a cross and died for our sins (Romans 3:24-25). When we believe that Jesus gave His life for us as payment for our sin, we are saved from our sin and able to begin a relationship with Him (Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2: 8-9).

Putting our faith in Jesus also gives us the hope of heaven. What greater gift could you be given this Christmas than the assurance of spending eternity with God in heaven? Having the hope and knowledge that this world and it's troubles is not the end of the story, and you have so much more to look forward to. That is why we can have hope today, and every day! It's why Jesus came, and why we celebrate Christmas!
