AmeriCorps Seniors Programs empower Americans over the age of 55 to serve their communities. On September 11th, AmeriCorps Seniors Groups, including RSVP, Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions are joining together for a Day of Service to recognize and support first responders. AmeriCorps Seniors vividly recall the impact of 9-11-2001 and want to pay tribute to those who put their lives at risk to keep others safe. These volunteers will be preparing, packaging, then delivering cookies, care baskets and cards to those who perform these vital community services.
